We do not set cookies

Not for analytics, not for advertising, not for sessions. Reading this site sets nothing.

That is why there is no cookie banner. A banner asking permission to set nothing would be theatre.

What we do store

One entry in your browser's localStorage, holding your light or dark theme preference. It is stored on your device, it is never transmitted, and clearing your browser data removes it.

localStorage is not a cookie: it is never attached to a request, so it cannot be used to identify you across sites.

If that ever changes

If the site later needs a cookie — for editor sign-in, for example — it would be a strictly necessary one, scoped to the admin area, and this page would say so before it shipped.
